All in Favour Say AYE!

Some may say that hardness and harshness could make someone more mature, independent and wiser. The government allowed more teachers to be strict to primary and high school students. Caning was allowed and the teachers were encouraged to educate them with discipline and full of manners. They would tolerate no rude behaviours. The nation thought that it’s a good step to maintain these future leaders to be professional in handling their future career and life. I believe that it is a perfect idea on shaping the new leaders. Disciplinary is what these kids needed to succeed, to have vision and mission, and be committed.

The government universities on the other hand, are like boarding school for teenagers that are transitioning into the world of adults/grownups. But what the government doesn't know is that this is the perfect time where these teenagers should really start to find who they truly are and to what the truly believe in. For a government university student like me, there were too many unnecessary rules that were made for me and any of the teenagers to obey. But the most prominent rules are the dressing code and appearance.

The lecturers (from specific department) could be very, very strict to the student, as it is not a necessity to any of them. Public humiliation and impossible datelines were included. And this may sound impossible, but, there are some higher authorities love to play God. It is not impossible for student’s marks to be affected just because of some conflict between lecturers and students. The differentiation between Personal Life and Professional Life don’t exist. In fact, in my real campus life there was this particular lecturer who taught us basic on entrepreneurship. He said, and I quote, “The students do not have any rights, but only gain privileges.” What kind of privileges do we get? Inexpensive fees?

This is a contrary to what I actually believe. I have to volunteer to contradict this predicament and self represents to thousands of students and express to how they actually feel. How are we suppose to embrace the freedom that we have if they have restricted on what kind of outfits to wear and what kind of outfits not to wear? Why do they have to succumb the creative metamorphisis process of an individual that is trying to learn and to know who and what they are? This is a crucial learning process for every single teenager who is about to go through a significant phase in their life.

Also, the one who teaches shouldn't be so pushy or too strict to the students. Their job is to teach, and how are they suppose to teach students if the students felt scared and intimitated. Their job requires them to be patient when it comes to teaching student. The student would feel apphrehensive to ask from the teachers/lecturers whenever there's question popping out of their mind. In my opinion, the teachers/lecturers might wanna think twice doing that. They are not bringing out the preseverance and intelligence in them. They're making the student to be more VINDICTIVE towards them and OBLIVIOUS of what they're aiming for.

But still, this is just an opinion. Its up to the individual to oppose or to agree in what i believe.
